Learn the basics of wax carving techniques, how to plan your work, select tools, and materials. In this class, students will learn the wax carving techniques needed to create a ring and a small project with a more contemporary approach. Students will be using hand tools to layout a project both by carving and by adding melted wax; learn how to size and create a ring, and learn how to calculate cost and weight for sending pieces to be cast.
